WELCOME!
Our rabbit adventure began in the Summer 2011 with my pet rabbit, Jack. Like most people, I visited a pet store and saw little Jack in a crammed little cage with his siblings, and he was probably not long off from passing since he was nothing but bones, but he was sweet. With what I know now, he wouldn’t of been my first pick, but he was the beginning of my rabbit habit :)
Starting up college, I had to put equestrian passions aside for the time being, but I wanted to be in a fun hobby that I was no more than a few steps away from my animals at a time.
Learning about rabbit showing, my best companion unfortunately wouldn’t be eligible to compete because of his pet status, so I slowly sought out breeders for quality Mini Lops to show and breed. I loved the Mini Lops because they were a small-medium breed, very calm, and had very charming personalities.
Unfortunately, because Jack was the runt, after putting him through a medical procedure to be neutered, he came down with pasturella. (A incurable bacterium that unfortunately that targets rabbits with weak immune systems. Strong immune systems have to be bred for). I did my best to extend his life for an extra year before I finally made the decision to put him to sleep. He now rest under a beautiful Japanese Maple tree next our pond. Although his time with me was short, I was glad for the time that I had.
Since then, my rabbitry has really grown and I strive to produce high quality, and most importantly, healthy Mini Lops. You will see that most of our Mini Lops are from LOJ or Harmon,as we limit our bloodline to keep them breeding true and consistent.
Although our primary focus is raising Mini Lops for the show table, we occasionally have pets available so people are given more options than going to a mill breeder or a pet store selling kits from some unknown source. Patience is required as we need to evaluate, but we promise our Mini Lops are worth the wait. These are more than your average rabbit and we aren’t trying to pump them out and pre-sell them before we know what we have. We strive to produce quality, not quantity :)
